IN MOTION

Thanks to all who came out to the SOFT RIOT show at The Old Blue Last in London yesterday evening. The next live outing will be in early March at Power Lunches in Dalston, London. Until then there’s a number of tracks to write for a few forthcoming future releases. Suspence on those will be kept for now.

Furthermore, live dates are in the works for other cities in the UK as well as possible dates in France and Germany later this spring. More information on that to come.

LIVE, LIVE FROM THE RHYTHM HIVE

As indicated cryptically above there are some SOFT RIOT live performances coming up. You can view all of the details in the LIVE EVENTS section of this website. A lot of newer material will be played from a new collection of songs under the banner HYPERBOLIC MASSES, which more information on that will be coming in the near future.

New footage has been shot for an additional promo video for the No Longer Stranger track “You’re Not From Around Here” which should be debuting in the coming weeks.

A couple of additional compositions are in the pipeline for a compilation based on classic video game soundtracks (interesting…) and a remix or two.

Finally, a digital single will be release on the label Everything Is Chemical in the coming months as part of an ongoing virtual 7″ series by the label. The two tracks will be a remake of a very old (5+ years) Soft Riot song that was never released, as well as a cover song.

THE BLADED RAINBOW

BladedRainbow_A6_FINIt’s fair to say that although this site hasn’t had any Soft Riot news in – well – a year it’s not to say that nothing has been going on! This news thread is more of a general document of the creative activities that your author is involved in. After a year of writing and more recently rehearsing, Savage Furs are playing their (our?) first show next Thursday, Sept 9th at a small yet cool venue called The Drop in Stoke Newington.

We’ll be having a number of talented folks DJing the night including James of Brave Exhibitions, some members of the electronic group My Elastic Eye and our friend Zara, aka Miss Glitch playing a variety of music that roughly is summed up on the flyer itself: WAVE / SPACE / MINIMAL / COLD / POP / ELECTRONIC / GLAM / MUTANT / POSTPUNK.

After that there will be some writing and then I’m off to Canada for a couple of weeks. We’re then playing October 15th at the Buffalo Bar for the club night Bedsitland. Perhaps we’ll see you around.
